I wanted to let you know about the Salvation Army Golden Diners program. They have a need for drivers to deliver meals to homebound seniors in the area. Meals are delivered in the mornings Monday through Friday and volunteers can serve weekly, monthly, or as available. Before a volunteer becomes a driver they do need to fill out an application that takes about 6 weeks to process.I have copies of their brochure and the application for anyone interested. There is also a need for drivers in the Elgin and Crystal Lake areas. The website for information on the Golden Diners program is http://www.salarmychicago.org/services/goldenDiners.htm.
